More often than not study skills are presented to students in a very dry, uninspiring fashion, I had found that the material presented seemed to have remained unchanged since I was at school. What first attracted me to Elevate Education was that they offered something different – young people who could offer advice from their personal experience. Elevate takes a realistic approach that is relevant to the students. Douglas uses scenarios throughout the presentation that allow the students to recognise their own behaviors in regard to school work and study. The entertaining, non-threatening style of encouraging them to reflect on their approach to work makes them very keen to interact in the presentation.
I was particularly grateful that Elevate had taken time to visit Brigidine prior to the first seminar to discuss the particular needs the College had in mind for the sessions and to get a feel for the culture of the school.
